What is the New Testament vision of the future? N.T. Wright will help you study the Jewish view of God as Creator along with the Christian view of the resurrection of Jesus. Instead of ever-popular views that try to push God and His Creation apart, this series will show you how to build instead an integrated vision of spirituality and social justice. Subjects include Resurrection (Beginning and Source of the New Creation), Nature, Grace, and New Creation, and New Creation in Action (Spirituality, Justice, and Beauty).

How should pastors and leaders respond to the challenges of ministry and mission in an era of skepticism and confusion? How will a biblical understanding of the Kingdom of God and the presence of his Spirit impact the local church? How did Paul understand God's purpose for the future of the world, and how does this play back into his understanding of the church's task and role? N.T. Wright addresses these questions and more in this series from the 1999 Pastor's Conference.

Authority & Use of the Bible

1 Compact Disc

Romans in a Week

6 Compact Discs

Available on CD audio

"Those who take the authority of scripture seriously," says Tom Wright, "should think through what we mean by that phrase." Today all around us authority is being challenged on an almost daily basis, and the Bible does not escape this. In this context, how does the authority of scripture function? What is the nature of authority? What is the proper use of scripture? Do we have too low a view of the Bible's authority? In this lecture Bishop Wright addresses these questions and more.

Available on CD audio

Paul’s letter to the Romans is one of the most important single documents in the history of the church. In this course Tom Wright begins with a bird’s eye view of the letter, then focuses on the individual sections, assessing their contribution to the whole. He examines some of the most controversial and difficult passages in detail before standing back and capturing a last awesome view of the breathtaking theological and missionary vision which Paul offers to his readers.

Who Was Jesus?

The Way of the Lord

Who Was Jesus?Son of God yet fully man, born of a virgin, crucified, dead and buried, gloriously resurrected---this is the orthodox view of Jesus Christ. Yet, beginning with Albert Schweitzer's 1906 The Quest of the Historical Jesus and continuing today with controversial books by John Shelby Spong, A.N. Wilson, and Barbara Thiering (to name just a few!) the orthodox view has been severely challenged. Wright examines these modern interpretations and presents biblically grounded evidence that sweeps away their arguments. Excellent for talking with ''rational'' skeptics!

The Way of the Lord Whether you're an armchair pilgrim or preparing for an actual trip to the Holy Land, let this book be your guide. Taking you to all the must-see sites, Wright weaves Old and New Testament stories, poetry, and personal insights with vivid descriptions of each scene. Ideal for individual and small-group study. Wright explores all the sites that travellers usually visit on a tour of the Holy Land, explaining not only what is to be seen but also the context of faith that makes these sites famous around the world.

Matthew For Everyone

The Resurrection of the Son of God

Matthew For EveryoneTom Wright's eye-opening comments on the gospel and what it might mean for us are combined, passage by passage, with his new translation of the Bible text. Making use of his true scholar's understanding, yet writing in an approachable and anecdotal style, Wright captures the immediacy of Matthew's gospel in a way few writers have.

The Resurrection of the Son of GodWhy did Christianity begin, and why did it take the shape it did? To answer this question—which any historian must face—Wright focuses on the key question: what precisely happened at Easter? What did the early Christians mean when they said that Jesus of Nazareth had been raised from the dead? What can be said today about this belief?
