Two faith communities find their identity grounded in the Old Testament. The history of interpretation by these two communities can be engaged in dialogue as a key to understanding: 1) something about the nature of sacred text and its role in the life of communal identity formation; 2) the enriching possibility of both communities learning from each other's readings. This series models courteous scholarly exchange between representative scholars from the two communities and reflection on issues of both faithful reading and literary theory.
