An encounter with the devotional poetry of the seventeenth century will serve to quicken your appreciation for literature that springs from a love for God-and feed the flame of your own devotion. This series focuses on the work of the metaphysical poets, John Donne, George Herbert, Richard Crenshaw, and Henry Vaughan and of their literary and spiritual sister, Anne Bradstreet.
Maxine Hancock is Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Among her other books are several on family relationships, including Living on Less and Liking in More, Re-evaluating Your Commitments, and Creative, Confident, Children. And notably, her work on Bunyan in A Key in the Window: Marginal Notes in Bunyan's Narratives.
