Spirituality requires embodiment in personal history. Using 1-2 Samuel as a text, this series will provide an extensive demonstration of how the Christian Living, lived from the inside out, is embedded in personal relationships and vocation. With the context set by the Hannah, Samuel, and Saul stories, the David story will provide the focus for the personal/vocational particularities in the life of prayer and spirituality that achieve completion in Jesus, the Son of David.

Eugene H. Peterson is Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology at Regent College. He has written numerous books, authored a commentary on the books of 1 & 2 Samuel, and translated the Bible (The Message) into contemporary English.
