In this lecture Gordon Fee says that that the Christian faith has had a privileged status in the core of North American ethos and not only has the Chrisitian faith lost its place of privilege but it has, for a variety of cultural reasons, found itself on the defensive. He does not morn this loss of privilege but he does mourn the loss of understanding of Christianity which is the core of our cultural beginnings.
Gordon D. Fee is Professor Emeritus of New Testament at Regent College. He has authored commentaries on 1 Corinthians, Philippians and the Pastoral Epistles, as well as books on exegesis, hermeneutics and the Holy Spirit.
