Description
Broadly, this series aims to teach the listener how to read biblical narrative and to understand narrative theology. It intends to apply this knowledge to the so-called Deuteronomistic history and Ruth, with special focus on the books of Judges, Ruth, and Samuel. Since these books are concerned with the question of leadership in Israel, and more specifically with the question of kingship, these books offer a profound insight into God's ideals of leadership. In addition, the course aims to familiarize the student with the structure and basic content of Deuteronomy through Kings.
