This series has as its primary concern the working through of selected portions of the text of 1 & 2 Samuel in an exegetical fashion. Throughout this process the historical, literary, and theological concerns are elucidated, thus providing the listener with an introduction to the methods of Old Testament exegesis which are applicable to Old Testament narrative. Emphasis is placed on the application of the results of this exegesis to various larger biblical-theological issues of concern to the church and to the world.
Rikk E. Watts is Associate Professor of New Testament at Regent College. He is author of a recently published book on the use of Isaiah in the Gospel of Mark entitled Isaiah's New Exodus and Mark.
