In this series Dr. Watts examines the function and significance of Jesus' miracles within the context of both the Old Testament and popular religious expectations of the first-century world. Also considered are Jesus' motivation, the varied presentations offered by the four Gospels, and in what ways his mighty deeds speak to the church today.

Rikk E. Watts is Associate Professor of New Testament at Regent College. He is author of a recently published book on the use of Isaiah in the Gospel of Mark entitled Isaiah's New Exodus and Mark.
