How do I find products?

Use the Search Box
Probably the fastest method if you are trying to find a specific item. In the search box (located in the top of the left-hand column) enter a product title, author's name, ISBN/product number, etc. into the box and click the "Go" button. Search results are returned by relevance

If you find you search is returning too many results you can try using the Advanced Search instead. This allows you to narrow down your search significantly. Enter as much information as you need in the fields provided to find what you are looking for. The more information you enter the more specific the results will be.

Browsing the Catalogue
The web equivalent of browsing through the shelves of your local bookstore. Regent Bookstore has three major categories of products: Books, Audio and DVD. The Books category is further broken up into sub-categories that can help you narrow down your browsing to subjects of interest. PLEASE NOTE that these sub-categories are a work in progress, and some have not been populated yet. We hope to have this rectified soon.

The Audio and DVD categories have no sub-categories as of yet, but this we also hope to add soon, especially for audio.


Some of the book sub-categories are empty. Why? And why no audio categories?

We are in the process of rectifying this problem. It has to do with the data we receive from our main supplier, and is something we hope to correct very soon.

As for the lack of audio categories this is something we are also working on and hope to have up soon. Perhaps not very helpful information, but it's the best we can do at the moment.

How is the new site different from the previous version?

The biggest difference (besides a new design) is the amount of items we carry. Because we now receive information directly from our supplier, we have been able to dramatically increase the size of our book catalogue. As well, book details will be kept much more current, and we will have new items added on a weekly basis.

In addition to a better selection of books, our audio catalogue has also expanded significantly to include almost all available Regent Audio titles, with more added on a regular basis. And to make ordering simpler, each audio title now has all available formats (CD, MP3-CD, cassette, etc.) listed on one product details page. Just select the format you want from the drop-down menu and add it to your basket. The difference in the cost of the various formats is also posted and automatically reflected in the price of the item upon selection.

The "Your Account" section has also been improved with the addition of a "Support Request" feature. If you are experiencing any problems, have a question or would to request a feature, you can use this page to create a support request and we will get back to you as soon as possible, usually within one business day. This system also allows you to track the status of your requests and refer to them again in the future.

There are a whole host of other small improvements, many of which may not be so noticable to you but will help us behind the scenes to serve you better than we could using our previous website. While we're sure there will be growing pains to endure, we hope you will find that the new RegentBookstore.com is an improved online shopping experience. But as always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make it better.

What about my account with the previous store? Does that still exist?

Unfortunately, we were not able to bring over the account information from old the site to the new, so in order to order from the new site you will have to create a new account. However, we will be keeping the old website up for the time being so you can access information on past orders, etc. But we will have to eventually shut the old site down, so please retrieve any information you may need as soon as possible.

We did manage to keep a list of subscribers to our WebSpecials e-mail, and will be renewing that popular feature once again on this site. For more information on WebSpecials please click here.

What are WebSpecials?

Our WebSpecials newsletter is sent out ar least once a month and features specially priced items available to subscribers only. If you want to receive WebSpecials just enter your e-mail address in the WebSpecials subscribe field, which is located in the left-hand column of most website pages. A subscribe box is also available on the account create and order pages. If you are not sure if you are subscribed or not, enter your e-mail address in the subscribe box and it will let you know if your address already exists in our subscribers database. PLEASE NOTE that we were able to carry over most of the WebSpecials subscribers from the previous website, but if you are not receiving the e-mail please go ahead and subscribe again.

Is the Regent Bookstore site Secure?

Yes, our site is secured using a 2048 bit SSL certificate signed and approved by GlobalSign, an established accredited public certificate authority. The certificate protects the portions of the website dealing with credit card information, there for you will only see the https url prefix and locked browser indicater on those pages. As securing a page results in a slower browsing experience, we don't secure the entire website, only those pages that require it.

As always, make sure that when you go to enter your credit card data you see https in front of the website url/address, otherwise your data will not be secured. This should never be an issue on the Regent Bookstore website, as the ordering process ensures that you are taken to the proper secured page at the appropriate time, but it is always good practice to check anyway.

How are credit card numbers handled?

When you order products from RegentBookstore.com your credit card number is split into two segments and sent to us encrypted. The two segments are only rejoined and decrypted when we go to process the credit card number to complete the order, after which they are re-encrypted automatically. We do keep copies of the order information on file in case of issues that might come up later, but the two credit card segments are never stored together and are always kept encrypted. We do not use credit card numbers for other orders, only for the one for which it was supplied.

Is my credit card automatically processed?

Because our online inventory is not tied directly to our physical Bookstore inventory, all orders are processed manually by our Bookstore staff. Your credit card will only be charged once we determine we have the items available to ship. Orders are usually processed within 2-3 business days of receipt.

How long does it take to ship my order?

If shipped by regular post in Canada and US orders our delivery time varies by region:

  • Western Canada: within 2 weeks
  • Western USA: within 2 weeks
  • Central & Eastern USA: 2-3 weeks (actual delivery time is usually within 2 weeks)
  • For international orders (surface post) please allow 4-12 weeks (actually delivery time is usually closer to 4 weeks, but surface shipping is unpredictable)

If shipped by courier delivery time is 1-3 days in Canada and the US and 4-7 days for international orders.

Please note that these are quotes for delivery. If we are short-stocked on book or audio product, there will be a delay as we complete the order. We presume that all orders will be shipped complete; if you want us to partial ship; please contact us. This will increase your shipping costs.

How long does it take to re-stock items?

If we are short-stocked on book or audio product, there will be a delay as we complete the order. Typical restocking times are as follows:

  • Regent Audio & Video product is produced at Regent, and is restocked quickly (typically within 1-3 days).
  • Book orders take between 1-3 weeks to re-stock (varies by publisher/distributor - most books are restocked within a week). Please contact us with any questions about your order or delivery time.

We presume that all orders will be shipped complete; if you want us to partial ship; please contact us. PLEASE NOTE this will increase your shipping costs.
